Bernd Schuster at Galatasaray (?)

Goal.com reports:

Bernd Schuster, who has been out of a job in football ever since his Real Madrid exit back in December last year, has been reported to have sign a principle contract with Turkish giants, Galatasaray, to become their new coach for the 2009/10 campaign.

According to Barcelona-based daily, Sport, the Augsburg-born trainer has penned a one year term with the Istanbul outfit with the option of another season if he can ensure the club a place in European competition.

Schuster is expected to pocket around €2 million, a figure that will increase with bonuses if he can guide the team to the league title and qualification to the Champions League.

The newspaper also reports that Schuster himself has given the deal the thumbs up after the confidence shown in him by the club board and all that is needed now to seal the agreement is an official confirmation.

Galatasaray, last season’s Turkcell Super Lig champions, are currently fourth in the table, seven points adrift of the Champions League qualifying zone.
